Why I think Logan Paul is the future of WWE
Quit rolling your eyes, and let me explain, okay? No, I'm not saying Logan should dethrone Roman Reigns; that honor should go to Cody Rhodes! What I'm saying is Logan's potential in WWE is ridiculously high! The man's ceiling is as high as the sky. Logan has a very accomplished high school wrestler with a standout record and has often displayed his heart in everything he does. When he commits to something, he puts all his time, effort, and money into becoming the best at it. Each time he boxed, he improved, showed excellent knowledge of the sport, and went out of his way to learn as much as possible. We already see that in his WWE run thus far! Listen to his episodes of Impaulsive. When he discusses WWE, you can feel he wants to be the best and works nonstop to improve in the ring. The passion in his voice is undeniable; he loves entertaining people, and he LIVES for the crowd! Logan loves getting a reaction, good or bad, and he's already learning that as long as they react to you, that is a good thing. To be successful in WWE, you need to be able to sell!
Selling moves, selling tickets, and selling a storyline, Logan has thrived thus far; the man rapidly improves in the ring and doesn't shy away from asking questions to help himself improve. Triple H said on Logan's podcast how impressed he was that Logan works as hard as he does and has all the tools to succeed as long as he keeps working. Logan has all the tools to be successful; he's got a good look, is athletic, marketable, and has a MASSIVE following that will follow EVERYTHING he does. Logan brings all the new eyes to WWE daily, which is an excellent thing for WWE and makes his rise to stardom even more apparent; if Logan succeeds in WWE, then EVERYONE benefits. In 2 matches with WWE so far, Logan did fantastic! at Wrestlemania, he won in a tag match with Miz defeating Rey and his son Dom, then at Summerslam, Logan defeated Miz in a show-stealing match! Fans even saw logan jump off the top turnbuckle and drive Miz through a table, impressing everyone! That was the night Logan showed he was serious about wrestling, and fans should pay attention to him.
Logan is a natural-born entertainer, so his success in pro wrestling will happen as long as fans give him a fair chance. As a wrestler, you need to be able to work a crowd with promos, and that's the only thing Logan has yet to impress me with, BUT he is still new to the sport and needs time. That is one of the hardest parts of wrestling, especially when a crowd refuses to play along, so for someone learning on the fly like Logan, it becomes much harder to cut a promo. Logan lacks confidence in his promo work, but that will come with practice. He excels at in-ring work because he can rely on his athleticism and knows he can do the physical aspect, but now the question is, how do you tell a story? How do you get a crowd to buy into what you are saying and to believe in the story? This is a lesson most wrestlers struggle with and often fail, heck some take YEARS to develop good promo work, so there is no rush for Logan to become an iconic promo artist! Get off the man's back and let him keep working. As a person, Logan is characteristic, and once he gets comfortable with a mic on WWE TV, he will flourish under the bright lights of WWE. What makes me believe Logan will do well in WWE is he has a VERY rare trait in humans which is when the pressure is on, he performs his best; when his back is against the wall. Logan goes even harder, and those two qualities make a wrestler special because they don't shy away from the challenge. They embrace it and work even harder to conquer whatever it is that they are facing. When all the lights are shining their brightest, Logan feels the need to shut up his doubters and show the world why you can never count him out. If wrestling fans can be open-minded for a few minutes and try something new, they will see a young, talented, and hard-working influencer who loves this fantastic sport as much as we do. Give Logan Paul a chance; he will surprise you.
