Spotlight- Myla Grace is the face to watch out for in 2023

With the end of the year quickly approaching, everyone looks back on the year we had in wrestling, but quickly we turn to "who is going to have that breakout year?" Now with that discussion in mind, allow me to make my pick for Breakout star of 2023, Myla Grace from Belfast, Northern Ireland. She is everything you want in the babyface hero. She's lovable, easy to support, never gives up, and tries her best. In 2022 we saw Myla travel across Europe wrestling in Poland, Italy, England, her home country, Ireland, Scotland, Finland, and France! She added several countries to her wrestling resume in some very impressive matches over the year. Her stand-out accomplishment so far is becoming a regular on WWE programming, regularly appearing on the NXT UK brand. She first debuted for them in 2021 when she faced Amale in a hard-hitting and fun matchup. Unfortunately for Myla, she was defeated by Amale. Still, fortunately for Myla, her connection with the crowd, paired with her dazzling in-ring skills, shed a bright light on Myla, and she was brought back to NXT UK. Still, this time she faced Lizzy Evo in an untelevised dark match where Myla picked up an imposing win over Lizzy. Myla finished off her 2021 by battling Xia Brookside on NXT UK. Myla would kick off her busy 2022 by continuing her time on NXT UK, facing Stevie Turner, Lash Legend, Isla Dawn (twice), and Nina Samuels. In each of those matches, Myla displayed all the major things you look for in a wrestler, phenomenal presence, charisma, a good look, and, most importantly, a great connection with the crowd. Each time Myla stepped into the ring in NXT UK, you could feel the entire arena firmly behind her cheering her on. Every time she kicked out, it was a shot of adrenaline to get the fans on their feet; whenever she pinned an opponent, it was like a powder keg went off as the fans got to their feet. When she wasn't competing in NXT UK, fans also saw Myla wrestle for Insane Championship Wrestling as she competed against Molly Spartan in a very hard-hitting affair showing her heart and dedication to the sport. When NXT UK closed its doors, Myla kept her momentum going grabbing wins in several different countries, the most significant being defeating the accomplished Heidi Katrina in a fun and exciting match. If I had to pick one moment in 2022, I should highlight this as one of them! This win put a lot of fans on notice and forced everyone to pay attention to Belfast's fastest-rising star. In Italy, Myla was forced to display her toughness and heart by battling another young and dangerously strong opponent, Emily Ramirez. Myla impressed everyone in attendance by overcoming the power of Ramirez and successfully defeating the powerhouse! The impressive thing about Myla Grace is each time she gets in the ring, you see an astonishing amount of growth each time, and she shines in every aspect of the sport. I've been lucky enough to watch Myla's career since 2019, and I can proudly say she is one of the hardest-working and most committed wrestlers today. This young lady eats, sleeps, and breathes Professional Wrestling and will do anything to improve her craft. Her exciting and fast-paced offense pairs with most opponents, and if need be, her chain wrestling and technical abilities are just as impressive and makes all of her matches interesting for all types of wrestling fans. It's not just in the ring; Myla stands out! She also stands out the second she walks out from the curtain for her entrance! The eye-catching colors of Myla's wrestling gear draw all eyes to her, Myla's music gets the fans behind her as they dance along with Grace, and her dance background only helps her as her bubbly energy gets the fans in her corner from the beginning. Myla is the definition of an entertainer and entertains the crowd from start to finish. Myla had an excellent year in wrestling, as I stated earlier and in her local promotion Myla went on a run of dominance, procuring dozens of wins in "Titanic wrestling." Establishing herself as one of the promotion's top stars. She competed for the women's title in her local promotion OTT "Over The Top Wrestling." facing current champion Debbie Keitel in a losing effort. In wrestling, a loss is never truly a loss; a special talent can turn a negative into a positive, and that's precisely what Myla did on October 30th, 2022, when she turned heel and joined the dark side. Fans saw a different side of the bubbly wrestler we all loved. She snapped and brutalized and battered Debbie Keitel and finished off her relentless assault by injuring the arm of the champion! That attack ushered in a new era of the character of Myla Grace, a much meaner and more aggressive side of Myla. The ability to reinvent your character and change when the time is right is such a unique skill not many wrestlers have. Early in her career, Myla can already change with the times. Myla is now putting everyone on notice by announcing her pursuit of gold and has made it very clear she will do anything to capture it. I'm beyond excited for the future of this fantastic young wrestler. My prediction for Myla Grace is that she will not only capture the gold she covets but also continue her global tour and establish herself as one of the best in Ireland and one of the top performers in the world by this time next year. Hopefully, fans in America will see Myla in action in 2023 because she is a heck of a talent with a rapidly growing skill set.

Attach a rematch between Myla and Mariah May to that list! The pair faced off in 2019, and both women have grown significantly since then and have become exceptional talents. A rematch would be must-see TV.
